Hi there

I am looking to purchase a KN7000 in excellent condition. Must be in the UK (preferably Scotland or Northern England) so that I can see it / play it before I purchase.

Would also consider a KN6500 - but really want the 7000 if I can find one.

Please let me know what you have and what price (sensible) you are looking for.

Thanks

Jane

Good choice Jane - do you intend to use it to play professionally?

Not really - I am a teacher and use my current KN1000 (yes 1000!) for school hymn practices and also for musical productions which I write myself.

I want to upgrade and the KN1000 has been so good I thought I would stay with technics.

Thanks for your note

It sounds great - but I really want to try to find one a bit closer so that I can go a try it and collect it,

It's a lot of money for me . . . . so I can't afford to risk anything going wrong.

Out of interest - how much is he asking for ?

Jane

if it wasn't for the fact I want a bit more out of the keyboard I would stay with the 1000 it's great - I'm keeping it though, no reason to get rid of it!

Hi Jane , I think he has it priced at 1,200 pounds ,however I am sure he would be open to an offer from you !
Service in my opinion will be the least of your worries, they are built to last as indeed the kn1000 was also?
The 7000 has less consumable parts that break i.e. Disk Drives ,Encoder Switches (Tempo Control) etc floppy screens which has always been a weak link in the 1000 but it is still a mighty instrument . The 7000 over a measured 4 years of service and over at least 76 instruments that I care for, have not had a problem except pilot error ,best wishes blessings Malcolm. The 7000 parts are of scientific grade through-out !Smile

Just helped a friend get a KN7000 from a UK dealer. Dealer price £1,100. includes a stand, free delivery and 12 months warranty. My friend even got about £200 for his Technics organ which he has had for several years making the KN700 even cheaper for him. Delivery is after Easter.
I found the KN7000 for sale on the dealers web site. My advice is check out the dealers on line. This was the best way for my friend to obtain a KN7000 as he is unable to travel and he was concerned about buying privately.

Hi Jane ,My cousin recently purchased a 7000 from a more mature person and it was found to be in excellent condition ,that was in U.K. where we also purchased a lovely Technics GA3 Organ for 3,500 pounds which also has had zero problems over the last 3 years and I believe that dealers margins have to show a Profit which "Old Technics Owners" are not looking for ,plus the chances that they have used or worn them out is highly unlikely, most do not even know why they purchased them ,but we do ,we have ears and eyes and know just how good they are ,do we not, Chris ,blessings Malcolm. Maybe ask the man if you can buy it for $1,050 pounds Sterling ,I`m sure he will have stand etc etc etc !!Smile

Hi Malcolm I have nothing against buying privately. If it is the case that the buyer cannot travel and is worried about delivery etc then the dealer option is a good one. I have purchased privately in the past with no problems. You takes your choice as to whatever is best for you.

No still here - been busy writing reports !!!!!

Still looking. There was a KN7000 on ebay - but had a cracked case so i stayed clear - but another one has just been posted.

I didn't realise it would be this difficult to get one - might have to defect to Yamaha !!!!!! Sad

Hi Jane
Would you like to sign up for our proposed KN7000 Convention later this year - I'd be happy to add your name to the list of interested parties - probably Cambridge either September October or November.

Far too cheap Rolland, that has to be worth at least $2,500u.s. dollars, I know we sell them in Ozz for around $3,000 to $4,000 ,remember these were a very expensive keyboard and are so well built, is still causing headaches for the competition even though they have been out of production for 3 years . best wishes MalcolmSmile
